In accordance with the programme for the development of the network of Centres of Noonomy, approved at the WAN Congress on 18 September 2026, a Centre of Noonomy has opened at Renmin University of China. It is the tenth WAN Centre of Noonomy.
At the opening of the Centre, Professor Wan Wen, member of the WAN Supervisory Board and Dean of the Chongyang Institute for Financial Studies and of the Institute of Global Leadership at Renmin University of China, stressed the fundamental importance of studying the foundations of noonomy theory, as reflected in the Centre’s name: the Centre for Noonomy Research. In his view, this matters both for raising the level of training of the university’s graduates and for giving them knowledge of heterodox economic concepts. At the same time, Professor Wan Wen emphasised, it is important to develop in future specialists in the social sciences the skills of cutting-edge research and of penetrating deeply into the essence of the phenomena under study, which the study of noonomy theory helps to foster.
A symbolic element of the ceremonial programme was the unveiling of a commemorative plaque, which is mounted in the relevant lecture room on the campus of the Institute of Global Studies at Renmin University of China. The unveiling was attended by Mr Zhang Donggang, Secretary of the Party Committee of Renmin University of China, and WAN President Sergey Bodrunov.
