Opening ceremony of the WAN Institute of Noonomy held in Rome

On 18 September 2026, a formal ceremony to open the WAN Institute of Noonomy (World Association of Noonomy) was held at Palazzo Faletti, the Rome headquarters of the UN University for Peace.

The WAN Institute of Noonomy is to become the largest international centre for the study of the fundamental principles of the theory of noonomy. Its remit will include training specialists to Master’s level in the theory of noonomy, as well as delivering a Master’s programme and higher education courses in the theory of noonomy for students and professionals from around the world.

The opening of the WAN Institute of Noonomy was marked by the symbolic cutting of a red ribbon.

The post of President of the WAN Institute of Noonomy will be taken up by WAN President Sergey Bodrunov. Roberto Savio, Director of the Rome branch of the UN University for Peace, will serve as Honorary President, and Sergio Bellucci, Academic Director of the Rome branch of the UN University for Peace, as Executive Director.

“Over the coming year we shall be working to launch a higher education programme for students from Italy, in order to give them the tools for a deeper study of the economic theory of noonomy and its practical application,” Professor Sergio Bellucci noted.

The work of the WAN Institute of Noonomy will be directed towards supporting research in the theory of noonomy, promoting inclusive global development and creating the conditions for greater socio-economic stability in the world.

Speaking at the opening of the WAN Global Congress, Alexey Paramonov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Italian Republic, emphasised that turning to the deeper scientific foundations of knowledge, and the capacity to apprehend new meanings, including economic ones — an endeavour advanced, among others, by the World Association of Noonomy — would make the development of global processes more sustainable and more predictable.

“Without science the world becomes blind and at times loses its way. For genuine science thinks beyond ideological boundaries and is guided first and foremost by the ideas of humanism and creation. It ensures the steady, evolutionary development of humankind through the transformation of the economic and social order towards a fairer and more balanced form. This is, among other things, one of the goals that the World Association of Noonomy has set itself. The challenges facing humanity today are far more serious and far more dangerous than they may appear, and they call for precisely this kind of measured, objective and comprehensive scientific analysis,” Alexey Paramonov said.

At the event, a memorandum of understanding was concluded between the World Association of Noonomy (WAN) and the UN University for Peace (UPEACE) on the establishment of the WAN Institute of Noonomy. The document was signed by WAN President Sergey Bodrunov and Roberto Savio, Director of the Rome branch of the UN University for Peace.

Francisco Rojas Aravena, Rector of the UN University for Peace, emphasised that the establishment of the WAN Institute of Noonomy at the UN University for Peace could make a significant contribution to the search for new approaches to global economic and social problems, and to broadening international academic cooperation in the interests of sustainable development.

The opening ceremony of the WAN Institute of Noonomy was covered by Russian and international media (the Rossiya 24 television channel, the magazine Faro di Roma, the Cavallo di Fuoco portal, Il Messaggero and other media outlets).
