WAN's Annual Assembly took place in Rome

On 18 September 2026, the Annual Assembly of the World Association of Noonomy (WAN) was held in Rome as part of the WAN Global Congress.

Opening the event, WAN President Sergey Bodrunov delivered a report on the goals, mission, history and areas of activity of WAN.

He emphasised that millions of people around the world are familiar with the theory of noonomy or carry out research in the field. It was therefore decided to establish an association that would bring together researchers from different countries in order to develop the propositions of the theory of noonomy further and to study the patterns of the noo-transition.

“WAN’s mission is to unite the scholarly thought of researchers from different countries in order to deepen knowledge of the theory and practice of noonomy, and to understand and formulate the principles, pathways and mechanisms of the noo-transition — the movement towards a society in which the achievements of science and technology serve human development, the realisation of human creative potential, the strengthening of solidarity and the creation of a noo-environment for human life,” said Sergey Bodrunov.

The WAN Annual Assembly approved the register of WAN members and WAN’s work plan for the second half of 2026 and for 2027, and heard reports on the registration of WAN and of the Noonomy Foundation, on legal matters and on the mechanism for funding WAN’s activities. The WAN website and electronic knowledge base were also presented; these will enable academics and experts to deepen their knowledge and carry out research in the field of noonomy.

Participants in the Assembly reviewed WAN’s work in organising congresses and conferences, as well as its communications, publishing, outreach and educational activities.

WAN’s educational work is delivered through Centres of Noonomy, which already operate in five countries and offer students courses in noonomy, including online ones.

Svetlana Pyankova, Head of the Department of Methodology and Educational Programmes at the S.Yu. Witte Institute of Noonomy and New Industrial Development (INID), and Irina Novikova, Professor in the Department of Economic and Financial Strategy at Lomonosov Moscow State University, spoke about the experience of the Centres of Noonomy and of other educational bodies working on the theory of noonomy.

It was announced at the Annual Assembly that new Centres of Noonomy will open this year in Beijing, Kampala and Bishkek.

A number of memoranda and agreements were signed during the Assembly:

  • Memorandum of cooperation between WAN and the S.Yu. Witte Institute of Noonomy and New Industrial Development (INID).
  • Memorandum of cooperation between WAN and the Moscow School of Economics of Lomonosov Moscow State University (Moscow, Russia).
  • Memorandum of cooperation between WAN and the Kyrgyz Economic University named after Musa Ryskulbekov (Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan).
  • Memorandum of cooperation between WAN and Makerere University (Kampala, Uganda).
  • Memorandum of cooperation between WAN and the Confederation of Bolivian Universities (La Paz, Bolivia).

The Assembly also saw the signing of memoranda of cooperation with the academic journals “Faro di Roma”, “Problems in Political Economy” and “Noonomy and Noosociety”, and with authorised publishers: Sandro Teti Editore (Italy), Plaza y Valdés (Mexico), Apple Academic Press (USA), Belt and Road Library Inc. (Turkey) and Diplomatic Club Israel LTD (Israel).

The proceedings and outcomes of the WAN Annual Assembly were covered by Russian and international media (the Rossiya 24 television channel, the magazine Faro di Roma, the Cavallo di Fuoco portal, Il Messaggero and other media outlets).
