The Tongzhong Forum aims to present to the international scientific and political community advanced initiatives, new concepts and innovative solutions in social development, the economy and the resolution of global development problems. In 2026 the specific initiative put forward at the Forum was the theory of noonomy. In an extensive report, the author of the theory, WAN President Professor Sergey Bodrunov, set out the basic principles of noonomy. He also described the mechanisms of the noo-transition and of forming a new world order within the noo-value core, along the trajectory of global transformation proposed by the theory.
Renmin University of China timed the publication of the second, updated edition of the book Strategising Global Transformation: Knowledge, Technology, Noonomy by Sergey Bodrunov and Vladimir Kvint, in Chinese, to coincide with Professor Bodrunov’s report. The presentation of the book aroused great interest among Chinese specialists and students.
The Tongzhong Forum is devoted to global development. It analyses the results and studies the initiatives of China’s socio-economic development, and it examines the country’s role in international cooperation on economic interaction, trade relations, investment, participation in developing the global financial system and settlements, and the resolution of social issues. A distinct place on the agenda is given to the study of the experience of “Chinese modernisation”, which is offered to other countries as a model of socio-economic development in a period of global transformation.
In 2026 the Forum was dedicated to the fifth anniversary of the Global Development Initiative (GDI) put forward by the Chinese President. Particular attention was also given to preparations for the APEC summit, to be held in China in November 2026. As a result, scientists and high-level political and public figures from various countries and regions of the world took part, including Australia, New Zealand, the United States and others.
