Trends in the Formation of Simulative Needs in the Social Space of Russian Regions

Abstract
The paper reveals trends in the formation of simulative needs in the social space of Russian regions on the basis of analyzing the incidence of alcoholism, drug addiction, compulsive shopping, as well as the demand for esoteric services. Measures to stimulate the population to reject simulative needs and form non-simulative ones are proposed. It is substantiated that these measures should be based on people’s knowledge about themselves, critical thinking, as well as on citizens’ respect for each other’s rights and freedom in order to protect them from the undesirable influence on the formation of needs.
