Abstract

The article examines issues related to rapid changes in the nature and content of the labor process under the influence of modern scientific and technological progress. There are mutual flows of skilled labor not only within manufacturing industry, but also from the manufacturing sector as a whole to other economic realms. At the same time, new types of labor activity are emerging, salaries are increasing, while the requirements for workers’ qualifications becoming more stringent. In such a situation, the role of quality education, including training of highly qualified mid-level technical personnel, increases significantly. All such changes, which significantly influence the developing social relations and the general state of society, are the subject of research by both noonomy and political economy.
